About us

Loupe Images, launched in spring of 2006, is a matchless source of inspirational lifestyle photography and illustration that is continually updated. At our offices in London we work with the best photographers, illustrators and stylists to create a wide range of beautiful images with a cutting-edge feel. Our subjects are the pleasures of life: health and wellbeing, our homes and gardens, the food we eat, the wine we drink.

Online search

• The online search selects from over 20,000 photographs that have been digitally scanned into the database. Please Contact us for more information.
• All searches on the archive are in English language only.
• The Image search uses your criteria to make a selection from Loupe Images database of more than 20,000 images commissioned by Ryland Peters & Small. There are two search types and a number of extra filter options. A quick search on the Home page, which takes you to an Image search screen, where you can modify your request. For more information, click on Help in the tool bar.
• To search the pricing guide, all users must Register their details and be approved by Loupe Images. The search facility is for use only for image licensing. Loupe Images may require extra information regarding the activities of yourself and/or company before an account can be confirmed.
• Naturally, the use of our website is free of charge. You can conduct your own search on the website, however if you cannot find the image you require, please Contact us and a Loupe Images representative will search for you. This may incur a service fee of £25 ($45, €37) for an assisted search, which will be notified to you before the search commences.

Picture licensing

• All of our images are rights-managed. Rights to reproduce our images are non-exclusive and non-transferable.
• All usage agreements are subject to a 'Licence to reproduce' for a given image, which will be subject to an appropriate reproduction fee. Before Loupe Images can authorize an image to be downloaded, the licence fee must be agreed. Please see Terms and conditions for more information.
• You can calculate the cost of an image by using our pricing grid when you select an image. The pricing grid determines fees by considering factors such as:
  
  
  Specific use
  Reproduction size and position
  Period of use
  Size of print run
  Distribution territory
  
  A credit line will be supplied with the image and must be included with the reproduction.
  
• Loupe Images reserves the right not to consent to allow any given image to be reproduced in a particular context. Contact us with your enquiry about reproducing images.

Payment

• We accept credit card payments online or over the phone in £ Sterling, $ US Dollars and € Euros.
• We charge VAT as follows:
  
  UK: VAT is charged at 17.5%
  
  Other EU Countries: Private individuals or companies that are not VAT-registered will be charged VAT at 17.5%. VAT-registered companies must supply a VAT number, which will be validated before purchasing can continue. The VAT number will appear on our invoice and VAT will be charged at 0%.
  
  No VAT is charged for the USA and rest of the world.

• All images on the website are copyrighted images and protected under international copyright laws. All digital images supplied by Loupe Images are the property and copyright of Ryland Peters & Small. Please refer to Terms and conditions for further information.

• America Online browsers are not fully compatible with the site.
• Cookies are used to remember your user ID and password details, but problems may be encountered if your computer does not accept these, or if your system protected behind a server firewall. Please Contact us for help or fill in the Technical support form.

Downloads

• Only registered users who have entered a mailing and billing profile and have been approved by Loupe Images have access to non-watermarked comps. Once a licence has been granted and fees paid you will be able to download a high-resolution digital image from a password protected page on our website. Caption, copyright and licensing information can be found in the IPTC fields in every high-resolution scan.
• All high-resolution images from this site are supplied as RGB or Grayscale digital jpg files compressed at 8. The average file size for an A3 or double spread file is between 2MB and 4MB. All digital files are minimally sharpened in order to retain the quality of the file. If you prefer to receive a digital file scanned or saved in a different format (for example an 80MB Tiff file saved onto a CD), please Contact us. There may be a charge for this extra service, which you will be notified of before the order is processed. Please make a note of the image number (found on the enlarged image screen – e.g. 0489CHAMP038A) before ordering.
